About

Greetings and salutations. I’ll be blunt about this. I’m an 19-year-old runner who wants to desperately run a marathon, an ultra, and do a triathlon. Mostly everyone calls me Christy, but if you think of another name that fits me, let me know. I reside in the rainy state of Oregon where I am senior at an all girl Catholic high school. I have a huge interest in nutrition and fitness.

I am a (vegetarian) foodie. I eat more than Michael Phelps. I love fruit, veggies, peanut butter, cereal, ice cream, donuts, eggs, fish, hummus, and waffles. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I could eat it all day, every day. For the most part, I eat healthy to fuel my body for my lifestyle and bread pudding from Whole Foods fuels my body pretty darn well for me to able to run miles and miles.

I run because I love it. It’s my passion and it keeps me going. No one in my family understands my commitment to running, but I keep running. I didn’t actually get into running until junior year of high school where I ran track. Then, senior year I decided to run cross-country. I made varsity and went all the way to regional’s.

I want to do more races constantly. However, I view it as I’m still 19 with a whole running career ahead of me and hopefully that includes Chicago, NYC, and Boston Marathon.

As of now, I am in the Marines, staring boot camp on November 7th.

I also love: biking, lighting weights, swimming, Seth Rogen, yoga, magazines, warm weather, cats, thinking I’m destined to become a crazy cat lady, wearing sweatpants constantly, being involved in celebrities’ lives, alternative music, R-rated comedies, Dean Karnazes, reading, and eating three apples a day.

Enjoy my blog filled with grammatical errors and jokes that I find humorous.

Sounds like we’re twins? I think yes. Which PSU are you attending? I’m assuming portland state but I was secretly hoping penn state because then we’d practically be neighbors.

You sound like my long lost sister. No joke! I didn’t run track in high school (just graduated, thank goodness that’s over!) but I just recently started running and have a dream of also completing a half marathon, marathon, and a triathalon. Call me crazy, but it’s good to have goals!
Whenever I tell my mom about how far I ran, she just kinda looks at me like I’m crazy. So I understand where you’re coming from. I really want to do some races so I can meet other people that I can connect with and share my love of running with!

Haha! I love you! I can already tell we’re gonna be good friends!! (Mostly because I love people who think they’re own jokes are hilarious!)

And a different name that suits you? I don’t know? How’s about Christellar G. The “G” is for gangsta. The stellar for obvious reasons. :)

I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2011. It was awesome, but my all time favorite race is Marine Corps Marathon. MCM was my first full marathon. It is around 30,000 runners. The race takes you over two popular bridges, loops around the pentagon and then the rest of the monuments, ending at the Iwo Jima memorial. It is awesome for a first time marathon because the race has thousands of spectators, it is well organized, and at the start, military jets fly over your head. Talk about getting you pumped up. You will find motivation when you run next to a military solider, running the marathon, in his or her full uniform, boots and backpack included. You must add it to your list, especially since you are a Marine. :)
