Tomboy

4 Jun

I graduate today and plan on eating my weight in fish afterwards so enjoy this somewhat shitty post. And excuse my language.

I am such a tomboy.

I don’t mind getting sweaty and I love the gym.

(Just getting my swim on.)

I can polish off a pizza. No joke.

I have my girly moments too.

I get my eyebrows waxed. Ignore my lack of makeup. Minus one for the girly moments.

And my other girly moment… well, they are few and far.

I do forget my tomboy ways when it comes to celebrities if you haven’t noticed. I love celebrities and I get wrapped up in the media even though I lie and say I don’t care. I do. I find them fascinating. Britney Spears is my homegirl and Charlie Sheen is still winning in my eyes. Hello, remember him in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? So cute.

Due to my celebrity fascination, I wanted to get your opinion on who looks best in a bikini. I know, really? Who cares about their skinny asses? Let’s just have some fun since I’m jealous of anyone right now who has warm weather.

Who is rockin’ the bikini – Audrina, Julianne Hough, Miley, or Gwen?

Let’s not forget Kim.

I want her to be on Dancing With the Stars.

And oh my gosh, Tori Spelling.
Pregnant women in bathing suits is a nay.

Any nominees for the best bikini body? Those girls in Oxygen Magazine would definitely make the list.

*FYI, I am just having fun with the whole celebrity bikini pictures. In no way am  I comparing myself to them, hope to look like them, or evaluating them. It’s called not taking everything seriously and having some fun.

———————————————————————————————-

Yesterday’s workout: water aerboics with the seniors, 30 minutes on the elliptical, and a bike ride

I had the best dinner last night too at Pastini Pastaria.

Can I marry this meal?

Today’s workout: 14 mile run

Well, I have to get my booty into gear and put on some girly dress for my graduation.

Have a lovely Saturday, folks.

Any special plans?

By the way, I am still looking for some blogs/websites that post about weight lifting and offer killer workouts. Hit me up.

okay, i enjoy your blog and your honorable eats and i support you in your efforts to eat healthier and live your life more fully. but i can’t take part in judging these women. celebrities or not (and pregnant, too) they deserve to wear their swimsuits without my judgement.
life’s too short to spend time evaluating other women’s bodies.
i sincerely hope you have a wonderful graduation & a great fish feast! 🙂

I’m not evaluating them. They all look good. They can wear whatever they want for all I care.

    Enjoy graduation!! How exciting 😀
EEK, some pregnant women can pull off a bikini, but I’m not digging Tori’s! She is still very pretty, though. 🙂

I’m totally a tomboy too. I have my girly days when I get dressed up, but I am most often found in running gear. It’s just so easy and comfortable.
I personally think Cameron Diaz and Jessica beal have the best bikini bodies. They are ripped and I love it. I don’t mind Tori spelling. I can’t help but imagine her in a hideous “mommy” one piece and that would be far worse

    Have fun at your graduation!
I am def a tomboy- think if you knew me you might take issue with my brows though. They have never seen a wax strip or tweezer , and let’s just say I like the large look.
I think Audrina looks the best in the bikini. Gwen Stephanie looks SO awesome especially for her age and having kids.
Have you tried Bodybuilding.com for workouts?
    Xxx

    Glad I found your blog!

    Happy Graduation!!!

I think pregnant women deserve to wear bikinis if they want though!! Especially if they look hot 😉

    • lifttorun June 4, 2011 at 5:37 PM #

That is true. Tori doesn’t look terrible.

It’s funny because growing up I was just about the girliest girl you would ever meet. I was also a fashinionista and refused to wear anything other than pink dresses.

These days I seem to live in my workout clothes and I can’t even remember the last time I wore makeup.

I’m not an avid celebrity follower but I think they all look good in there own ways.

P.s I can totally see those rockin’ arm muscles you got in your swim pic. Woot woot!

  10. britannie June 4, 2011 at 4:57 PM #

congrats on graduating! and I agree with megan–your arms are ripped girl! haha.

and i mean to each her own–if those ladies have the confidence to wear swimsuits then awesome, they’re all rockin it–but I’d probably agree with you on the best swimsuit bodies being oxygen magazine models. I’m a fan of women not being afraid to have some muscle! we’re strong too damn it! 🙂

You are so judgemental, body-obsessed, underweight, exercise obseeessseeed, and need to help. You’ll only realize it until you are forced to get help.

    • teabagginit June 4, 2011 at 6:03 PM #

there’s a difference between constructive comments and being mean. i wouldn’t be so quick to call someone “judgemental” when you are in the process of judging them.

Although the way the posts/ comment is harsh and not the way I would phrase it, I am glad it was said- someone had to say it. People are comment trying to be nice and supportive but sometimes someones needs to just say the truth. Christy IS body obsessed, disordered, underweight, and really NEEDS help but sadly I do not think she sees it that way herself, nor does she seem to really see how bad things will be down the line if she continues with over exercising and being unhealthy.

      • lifttorun June 4, 2011 at 6:54 PM #

I would like to point out that you have no idea if I am underweight or not. Also, you have no idea what I eat. I may post my workouts, but sometimes I don’t even say how long they are.

    • lifttorun June 4, 2011 at 6:52 PM #

Honestly, I am just having some fun in life with celebrities. So what?

      • Jess June 17, 2011 at 4:46 AM #

I’m a regular reader but not commenter…. here’s my two cents, because I’m surprised so many people are calling you out on being eating/body image disordered. Anyone who knows anything about these diseases knows that it is incredibly counterproductive to call someone who potentially has an ED [not saying you do, but some people obviously think so] out on their disorder- it is taken as a compliment the majority of the time and is not conducive to the healing process at ALL. Just something to think about. Some [not most or all] people who have suffered from eating disorders in the past read fit/food blogs as a way to heal, myself included. Realizing you aren’t alone in having a life centered around healthy living can be so therapeutic, for readers and writers alike. Part of the healing process CAN include looking at celebrity pictures in a healthy light- notice that none of the celebs posted look like they are deep in the throes of anorexia. They have wonderful, HEALTHY figures. She isn’t going, OMG I WISH I LOOKED LIKE AUDRINA. She’s just posting pictures. Sorry for the essay but I feel VERY strongly about this and have taken enough psychology courses to offer some input! Love the blog : )

        Thank you.

    1. If you have or have had an eating disorder, you can’t try to eat “only healthy foods”specialdiet or exerise or compare peoples bodies without it being seen in a skeptical light. (just examples)
    2. just because you post things in a cheery manner does not excuse what could be underneath, it’s a bit deluding to the person who does it usually when they tell themselves it’s fine because it’s “just for fun” and you “really like it” etc. Which may be true, but it’s also somewhat of a psychological trip on your own mind.

No, alot of people who read your blog don’t know you personally, but you have to realize that these kinds of comments will appear based on repetitive themes that show up. Most importantly you have to be honest with yourself, and also take peoples comments as what they are trying to say, not as you percieve them defensively. Yes, uplifting comments are nice, but I find in the blog-world, too many people are afraid to say anything and it just causes those who are in trouble to convince themselves further to not get help thinking they are okay. This is just my observance.

    • lifttorun June 4, 2011 at 7:33 PM #

Thank you for the comment. I definitely have to agree.

    Fish! Yummm.
I am a tomboy too…I have no fashion sense…I always wear running clothes! Back when I took a weights and conditioning class (I didn”t this trimester because of track), I did not care about going to my next class all sweaty and gross!
And I would have to say…I think Audrina looks the best.
    Hope you enjoyed your graduation!

    • lifttorun June 5, 2011 at 12:30 PM #

My fashion sense is like jeans and white shirt with some Vans. Hahah. I call it California Chic.

Congrats grad!!! I LOVE eating my weight in fish too 🙂 hehe!

  15. Sweet Cheeks June 5, 2011 at 2:59 PM #

I just want to say that this is YOUR blog and you can post whatever the heck you want on it. Don’t let other’s people’s negative comments get you down, which i doubt they will because you are better than that anyways..but I still wanted to say it! 🙂

And I think Audrina looks AMAZING!!

  16. moveovercelery June 5, 2011 at 5:26 PM #

    Have fun with GRADUATION!!! 🙂

I think Gwen looks the best. She definitely has some muscle tone and she has the skin of a five year old! Jealous!

  17. Alexandra June 5, 2011 at 5:38 PM #

Happy graduation! 😛 I’m sooo with you on preggers ladies in bikinis…eww it creeps me out hardcore haha
