Monster Swanson Reviews

25 Jun

I’m so boring. I eat the same meal everyday for breakfast. It alters every other day, but it’s basically the same thing. I have an egg omelet with spinach (sometimes a whole egg, sometimes just egg whites) with a banana and milk. I usually mix soymilk like chocolate or cappuccino with regular skim milk OR almond milk. Sometimes I just do egg whites with spinach then eat a Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. It just depends on what I want. Rarely does my breakfast change.

However, I decided to switch things up. I have been craving a good old smoothie for breakfast so that’s what I have been eating for breakfast! Look at me. I’m growing up so fast.

In the mix:
– handful of spinach and kale
– one banana
– cup of vanilla almond milk
– vanilla protein powder
– peanut butter
– and ice, of course

It’s so good despite my mom having to make a damn comment about it every time I eat it.

What’s your favorite smoothie recipe? Throw some recipes my way, folks.

———————————————————————————————-

The other day I got something in the mail. No, it wasn’t one of my subscriptions to the 48481199 magazines I receive, but it was a package.

As you can see, I was beyond elated.

Swanson Health Products let me pick out products from their amazing website that is chocked full of great health products. So, Swanson sent me the products for free to review. Check out their website because they have everything you can imagine. From vitamins to nut butters, they have it.

The first product I picked was Pea Protein powder.
I already tried it this morning in my smoothie and yogurt bowl mess. I like it a lot! Also, I love the fact that the pea protein is non-animal derived protein and has 17 grams of protein in one scoop for 80 calories. That’s awesome, people. Take my word for it. The protein powder itself has a great texture and is somewhat… thick. It’s not super thin and grainy like some protein powders.

The next product I picked was vegetarian Glucosamine.

**Expect a better review soon. I want to wait a week or so before I review it properly. I just started taking the Glucosamine  yesterday so I’m sure it takes a while for my body to absorb it and let the Glucosamine  do its magic.
Nonetheless, how fantastic is it that Swanson has vegetarian Glucosamine? I’m so glad they have it as  product because I am rather picky about my vitamins and supplements since I am vegetarian.

The third product I received was Swanson Super Stress B-Complex.

I already have a B-complex vitamin, but I figure why not try a different brand? According to Swanson, their B-complex vitamin is “specially formulated to replenish the nutrients that are most in demand during high-stress times, each capsule combines a generous supply of B-complex vitamins with the powerful antioxidant protection of high-potency vitamin C.”
**Expect a better review soon. Again, I want to take the  vitamins for a few weeks so I can actually see/feel if I get results.

The final product I chose was Once Again Tahini Nut Butter. I never tried Tahini nut butter before. I know. How can I call myself a nut butter lover when I haven’t tried every single nut butter in the universe? I don’t make the rules.

Once Again Tahini Nut Butter is a traditional tahini made from dry roasted sesame seeds. I really had no clue if I should eat this by itself or use it in a recipe. I decided to add it to my yogurt bowl mess. Let me just say that it may taste better mixed in with something than by itself. By itself, it is an acquired flavor I think.

How do you use Tahani nut butter?

I just want to thank Swanson Health Products for letting me pick out a few products to try and review. I love their site and what they have to offer. I will definitely be shopping there again soon.

Now I am off to work!

Hold your horses! I can leave you guys high and dry. Is that weird to say… high and dry? Am I referring to something? Okay. Whatever.

For the first time this week I tried a date.

Not a date date like with an actual guy (because I obviously have those all the time with my bedtime being at 9), but the fruit date.  I am now obsessed! I always see them on blogs and I do not understand how you guys only eat like two at a time with peanut butter. I just eat them by themselves and I end up eating like twenty. Cray cray.

Now I’m really off to work.

Just kidding. I want to admire Raven-Symoné for a minute. You know her… That’s So Raven. If you’re like me, which let’s hope not because there are enough nut jobs in the world, you watch That’s So Raven on Saturday mornings.

Damn girl.

You ain’t got nothin’ on me and my matching skills. Uh uh.

Enjoy your Saturday!

    Woah you sure scored!
I went through this big tahini phase but I didn’t like it by itself. It tastes good on taste with honey or jam. But I don’t seem to have the same love for it these days that I used to.

I just got some pea protein too! Mine is a different brand but I really like it, too! I use tahini to make homemade hummus. or it’s good as a topping for savory oats. I definitely prefer it with savory things as opposed to sweet things, like most other nut butters.

dates are amazing!! Eat them pre-workout. they give me so much energy!

I hear you with the same breakfast day in and day out girl. I am one for either oatmeal (same combo) or omelete (same combo) every morning and I can’t break the habit! I guess we eat what we like right?

That is so awesome you scored free product from Swanson, glad you enjoyed them as well 🙂

Cute gym outfit, ya look good 😉

I’ve never tried pea protein! I’m a protein powder addict though so I may need to add that to my repetoire.

I love your selfies. Yours are executed much better than mine. You look good in them, whereas I tend to look like a crazy mofo.

Oh, I always get weird comments when I eat green smoothies too! But they’re just so good…who cares!

All of those products seem so cool! I’ve never had tahini nut butter so I guess I can’t say I’m a nut butter lover either!

Aw man, I always get so jealous of your products in the states. I wish I could find a good pea protein powder here! Or brown rice for that matter.. And tahini nut butter! I don’t quite know what that is, but I love tahini, so I’m pretty sure it’d be a winner with me!

Favourite smoothie recipe is frozen berries, coconut milk, scoop vanilla protein powder, blob of pb. Sometimes I throw banana in too, but the frozen berries + protein powder tend to thicken it up enough for my tastes. I’m really lazy with smoothies though, I don’t bother with that many add-ins, and just do the same thing over and over again. Bit like you and bfast really 😉

I love tahini mixed with zucchini spaghetti, a squeeze of lemon, tomatoes and basil 🙂

The pea protein sounds awesome! and don’t worry I’m a pretty boring breakfast person as well, usually I just eat cereal but I’ve been trying to get away from it.
