No Hatin’

29 Jun

Hiya! Before I even start this post, I want to be a Negative Nancy opposed to my Positive Polly self. Well, I just want to voice my opinion for a moment so call me Voicing Victor. (??) Alrighty. Too many names.

The reason I don’t do WIAW is because I don’t want your comments on what I eat even if it is enough for everything that I do. I don’t want to read “you eat too much of that” or “no wonder why you’re hungry all the time” type of comments.

I should have known by posting my review of workouts this week that I would get shit. “Oh, you do so much. You are wasting your life. Take a rest. You need rest.”  First of all, who said I was working out all hardcore on the elliptical after my runs? It’s how I cool down. Who said I am even pushing myself to oblivion on my runs? Blogs are one dimensional. What I do and what I post can be two very different things.

As for rest, I take rest days when I know I need them. I understand athletes take rest days, but not all of them take them every week. They take them when they feel they need it or they take active rest days.

If my workouts, what I eat, or how I post celebrity workouts bothers you, then whatever.

Yes, I said it. The end.

So, on Monday I successfully did a long run with my friend on the trails. We did approximately 11 miles.  I think my Garmin lost a signal at one point so it may be 12. Let’s just say 11. It was slow though. I’m not saying this to beep my own horn, but I was faster than my friend and she told me to go ahead. So I did then I would wait for her. I felt bad. I hate when you run with someone and you really have to slow down your pace.

But it was nice to run with someone. Besides, I love the trails. I could be on them all day. Holla for 11 miles!

That’s obviously how I run.

I had to refuel somehow and I wasn’t going to pay six dollars at Whole Food’s juice bar for a smoothie.

 Veggie pizza

Baskin Robin’s baseball nut and Reese’s ice cream

Seeing that I did 11 miles on Monday, Tuesday I just stuck to the elliptical and a strength & conditioning class.  My foot was feeling iffy. It doesn’t hurt, but it just doesn’t feel like my left foot. Perhaps it’s still getting used to running. I don’t know. As long as I don’t feel pain, I’m fine. No pain.

I had work today at 7 AM, which meant I had a 5:30 wake up call. I don’t know how I took a shower and got dressed in under 20 minutes, but I did. Oh wait. I don’t shave my legs nor do I layer on makeup so that explains it.

Work has been going very well lately. I talked to the boss about working in the afternoons and it seems like they are looking into it. Also, I get to work immediately after my half marathon on Monday. Work it, girl.

It may have not been the best idea to run 11.41 miles today. I didn’t plan it. I just kept going and I wasn’t thinking about anything. You ever have those runs when your mind is clear and you just listen to the sound of your breathing? That’s what happened so I kept going.

I did stop at New Seasons Market to pee and eat their free samples. Duh.

I don’t know why, but my half marathon that’s in like three days keeps slipping my mind. It’s not real to me yet. Not that running a half marathon is the big deal, but racing one… that’s getting to me. I’m such a perfectionist that it is making me nervous. What if I do not do that well? What if my foot gives out finally? Ahhh.

Remember when I said I see a marathon in the future? Well, I filled out form because I am interested in this one:

I love Tosh.0. I even saw Daniel Tosh live.

If you don’t know, I am a huge comedy fan. There was a time when I wanted to be a comedian. I would still like to be a comedian, but… I’m not  funny.

I could be a model though. I mean, look at me. I have so much in common with Jillian Michaels and Audrina Patridge.

Time for honorable eats:

– Do you run the day before a race?
– Who is your favorite comedian?

    You’re so funny! 🙂
I understand how annoying it is to slow down your pace when running with people. During XC season when we had to stick as a group during some of our runs, the captains wouldn’t allow me to lead the pack because I always pushed the pace. It drove me NUTS!
I’m so excited to hear how you do in your half marathon!! You seem to be getting stronger each day! I bet you’ll surprise yourself in that race.
Keep up the great work! 🙂

Ahhhhh! I love daniel tosh! I wish I could see him live. He’s hilarious! I completely understand about running with a friend! It’s really awkward when you want to run faster but they can’t at leasty ou had fun!
Good luck on your half marathon I can’t wait to hear about it!

  3. Molly June 29, 2011 at 4:41 PM #

Haha Audrina and Jillian are like polar opposites, other than they both have freakin’ toned bods! I loved your term “one-dimensional” to describe the blog world because, it is so true. I don’t post all of my eats, because I wouldn’t want to be criticized either when I eat a meal that is “too healthy” or a meal that “is processed junk and doesn’t represent healthy eating at all”. One time I posted a recipe and I used Peter Pan Peanut Butter as an ingredient. Holy shizz, I got an e-mail that was like “WTF, you don’t use natural peanut butter?! I thought this was a health food blog”. No not really folks, it’s a whatever-I-want-to-write-and-you-can-read-it-if-you-want blog <— that just happens to have an empashis on healthy eating. I try to please my readers most of the time, but I won't be criticized for how much I run (because I love it) or how healthy or unhealthy the food I eat is. Rant over 🙂

I went back to find those negative comments. They can’t even link to their own sites? And they all came around the same time? They are just jealous that they can’t work as hard as you. Losers.

  5. Tara June 29, 2011 at 5:00 PM #

CAN I HEAR AN AMEN, SISTA?! No seriously, I LOVE YOU EVEN MORE NOW. I post my daily eats, but I never said I show EVERYTHING. People seem to assume WIAW means everything I ate wednesday? No. I also don’t even post all of my workouts anymore because people try to diagnose me with problems and shit. Since when are you my doctor, and since when do you know the whole story? Like, stfu, i’m working with trainers, specialists, coaches, and my own doctors, I know what I’m doing. This was a rant provoking post and I’m glad I could get those feelings out.

moving on. I didn’t know there was a tosh.0 marathon. They should have big screens up the whole time playing a tosh.0 marathon while you run your marathon.. that would be glorious.

    • Tara June 29, 2011 at 5:06 PM #

oh and I just want to add something funny: i went back and looked at the comments and one of the people that left a rude one does that to me too… but the funny thing is when she feels like being nice, she changes her name. Yet her email is the same. Seriously? I’m not retarded. No, even if you win my giveaway under your new name, I won’t let you win. Or I’ll get your address and send you a fake prize since you like to be fake with me. k cool.

    • lifttorun June 29, 2011 at 5:47 PM #

Exactly. That’s how I feel. I have parents who look out for me and my mom took me to a doctor when I was struggling insanely. Someone online cannot diagnose me when they aren’t even here.

  6. Tudder June 29, 2011 at 5:15 PM #

I’m nowhere near a marathon, but if I were ever going to do one, that would be the one I would want to do. And for what it’s worth, I agree with you. Only you know your own body and what you’re capable of without injury. Good luck!

    • lifttorun June 29, 2011 at 5:46 PM #

I don’t think I am ready either, but I’ll do it just because.

  7. sarah June 29, 2011 at 5:20 PM #

I want to eat that Baskin& Robins ice cream cone out my screen and to be able to run like you-you’re one talented girly.
I want to marry the comedian Michael Mcintyre- don’t know if you would know him though since he’s British- he’s adorably hilarious.

  8. indecisiveathlete June 29, 2011 at 5:25 PM #

    That veggie pizza looks delish.
Runs where you just keep going and going and not thinking are the best.
Tosh.0 marathon?! that would be amazing! love that show.

    • lifttorun June 29, 2011 at 5:45 PM #

I hope they e-mail me back for the marathon!

  9. Jess June 29, 2011 at 5:30 PM #

That’s why I am REALLY hesitant to “WIA…any day” posts!! I have done like two. I would never want to make anyone feel bad OR open up the door for negative comments.

YAYYYY for no foot pain!! You’re gonna rock your half!!

  10. Rach @ This Italian Family June 29, 2011 at 6:21 PM #

I just ran across your blog from Allie’s (AllieKSmith) and I’m so glad I did. I actually had a post along slightly similar lines today. Like you, I don’t want to post all my daily eats or work outs because I don’t want to hear crap from anyone about it. Like you said, blogs are totally one dimensional. Anyway, I hear ya, girl. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Also, that veggie pizza looks completely amazing!

  11. Ma Ma Megan June 29, 2011 at 6:24 PM #

Good for you for saying “eff you” to all the haters. I would loove to hear about their perfect diets and exercise routines. Yeah right, They need to get over themselves.

“You ever have those runs when your mind is clear and you just listen to the sound of your breathing?” <– when I first started running it was so hard! Once I hit 3 miles I had a run that I would describe just as that and that's when I knew I would keep going.

Anywhoo can't wait to hear about your half, you will rock it!

  12. Hollie @ Lolzthatswim(andRun) June 29, 2011 at 6:59 PM #

Girl I lurrrvee that you posted this seriously. I don’t do the Wednesday food post because I don’t give a freaking eff what people have to say about everything I eat. Clearly it’s working for us and that is all that matters. 🙂

    • runningperspective June 30, 2011 at 6:09 AM #

  13. runningperspective June 30, 2011 at 6:09 AM #

  14. allieksmith June 30, 2011 at 6:55 AM #

I think tosh.o is pretty funny as well 🙂

I don’t run the day before a race. if I do it would only be like 1-3 miles. Good luck.. you know you are going to rock it!

  15. Dana June 30, 2011 at 12:26 PM #

You do over-exercise. You are underweight. & It looks like you’re copying “Running off the Reeses” blog. Get some help.

    • lifttorun June 30, 2011 at 1:24 PM #

How do you know I am underweight? You don’t because I’m not. Should I get my doctor to okay my blog and what I post? I don’t pay her for that.
And I’ll definitely get some help for coping another person’s blog. Didn’t know that was a major crisis. I didn’t know posting pictures of celebrities was only okay for one person.

  16. Sweet Cheeks June 30, 2011 at 2:28 PM #

dang why are people hatin’ on you?? Don’t give them the time of day. You don’t need to justify your every flippin’ move. SO FRUSTRATING!!! You know what’s best for your body, end of story. Keep on rocking it out girl. 😉

  17. June 30, 2011 at 6:12 PM #

Don’t even worry about what other people say – running is a hobby. Some people watch hours of tv as a hobby, how is running any different? (minus it being way way better for you). I admire your ambition and I think people should actually take tips from you! Keep it up!

  18. shirl June 30, 2011 at 7:21 PM #

dang girl! how are you so speedy??? i feel like i’ve been running for years (“competitively” on teams) and i’ve yet to attain that level of running! your workouts are inspiring 🙂 but obviously what works for one person may not work for another. some people can kick ass running 60 miles a week while others kick ass with 25 supplemented with cross training. not too sure what group i fall in (and there are probz plenty of other runners out there), but i can only hope to be a better runner and to have as much energy as you do to work out and get strong!

    • lifttorun July 1, 2011 at 8:16 AM #

I’m sure you are a great runner!

  19. Jessica Rose June 30, 2011 at 8:14 PM #

haha I love this post. And people that try to “diagnose” you or tell you what to do should really get a hobby. This isn’t a forum for medical advice – it’s your life. Pssh. Rock it girl.

    PS- You’re super fast.

  20. Amanda @ Running with Spoons July 1, 2011 at 9:23 AM #

Hey girl! Thanks for stoppin’ by my blog to say hi – it’s how I find yours and I’m totally looking forward to reading more! You’ve just become the newest addition to my Google Reader family 😀

Fave comedian? Dane Cook 😀 Guy kills me…
