Back to Normal

I say howdy a lot. I’m not from the south or anything. I just like making people feel uncomfortable.

Well, I hope you all are doing fantastic! Pretty sure the weekend is so close. My Friday is tomorrow and I’m going to the beach. Mandatory fun day for everyone in my unit. So, what that means for me is, I’m going to bring a book and go chill out in the sun away from everyone.


I just want my peace and quiet… and my liquor.

Yes, I drink occasionally. Yes, I like it. Y’all should be proud of me. I use to drink daily and on days I didn’t work, drinking started at 7 AM. That is until I got help and went to AA. I really don’t like admitting that, but it’s what helped me realize that my drinking was a vice.

It’s incredible how months ago drinking daily, all day until I fell asleep was normal for me. Now, it’s normal for me to rarely even touch alcohol and I love that! I’m proud of myself. I came such a long way.


It’s okay to be proud of yourself for how far you’ve came! 

My week has been going really well though. 

Let’s see… I last talked to you guys Saturday. My Saturday was spent alone. I got dinner alone and everything.


It was so good! I haven’t had pasta or bread in awhile so I ate it right up!

I stayed up super late on Saturday because I’m a night owl so I got bored and obviously that happened (see photo above). Major dork, I know.

Another realization I had! Several weeks ago it was normal for me to be partying it up all night with a group of people. I didn’t want to be there. I didn’t want to be playing beer pong every night, yet it was normal for me. Now, normal for me is in bed by 10 PM on a Saturday and away from everyone else. I forgot how much I love being alone. 

Sunday: I ran 6.5 miles or so then spent the rest of my day in my room! Honestly, I don’t do much.


I am seriously the most boring person ever. I don’t have many friends and I rarely leave my room anymore unless it’s for work or food.

Monday through Thursday just flew by.

I ran everyday as well as did spin class twice!

Wednesday was quite busy. I woke up to run (another 6+ miles), I did spin class at lunch, and yoga right afterwards. I was starving! By the end of the day, I realized I had nothing but a protein bar.

Quest Bars are the bomb.com though. Just sayin’.

I know, I worked out hardcore on Wednesday and my body is still not use to it, but I was angry when I couldn’t work out today! I have been up since 4 AM working and now that it’s finally about 7 PM, I’m tired. I am exhausted! I wanted to run today. I hate that I was finally getting a routine going on of twice a day workouts, yet now my routine has to change due to work again. I just want a regular 9 – 5 job. I can’t wait to be out of the military and I can have freedom. A car would be nice as well. I feel like a child once again.

I won’t complain. I’ll save that for another post.

Anyway, tomorrow I have a super good HIIT workout planned for 5:30 AM before the beach so hopefully I feel normal again. It’s odd how my normal a few weeks ago was me sleeping all day and never exercising. Now, my normal is work my ass off (literally). Running has always been my passion. Its the love of my life. I gave it up for a long, extended amount of time. Nonetheless, running came back into my life so smoothly and non effortlessly. My legs may not agree, but my mind does.

I cannot wait to run tomorrow! My legs are ready… somewhat.

Happy Motivational Monday!

My workout on Monday included 38 minutes on the stair climber and about an hour of lifting. I’ll fit in a run in the afternoon and probably more lifting. So excited to run again. I love my sore calves.

What’s up with me and the color pink? I must really want those shoes.

Anyway, get motivated. 



I only post this for Starbucks motivation.



As you can tell, I have a lot of different motivations. Yes, I love celebrities. However, it’s obvious I look up to amazing athletes too and I prefer to be inspired by them, and not Miley Cyrus’s pilates routine. Lolo Jones is my number one idol currently. I love that girl.

Monday Motivation

So much for my post yesterday, right? I got busy and hungry.

But it’s a new day and each week I have been giving myself a new goal. Goal for this week: No more go crazy with eating at night. Eat more through the day so I don’t binge at night. 

Well, there ya go.

I decided to do Motivational Monday because I’m a Marine and we are always motivated.

Motivation commence!

Can I seriously be Miley? I love her to death. I don’t care what anyone says. She’s my girl and I want her body. Is there weird to say?

I have done that. 

Her legs! Gosh darn. Let’s trade or be besties.

Best feeling in the world. I wish I could experience it for a living.

Trail Factor Half Marathon

Oh my gosh. 

Hey, hey!

The worst blogger award goes to yours truly…


What’s up, guys?

I owe you a recap of my half marathon. Let me say that I haven’t done hills like that in so long and my ass hurts badly.

Well, on May 28th I did the Trail Factor Half Marathon. If you haven’t figured it out by the name already, it was a trail race, which are my favorite.

The elevation was crazy amazing. I’m a sucker for hills and climbing up dirt trails. 

Those squiggly lines mean steep incline.

Anyway, the race started at 8 AM and I was there at 7 AM because my mom is a spaz like that. We showed up, I sat around, and listened to Miley Cyrus Rob Zombie.

I am almost positive that I was the youngest person there. It’s no surprise. I don’t know many 19 year old’s who love running fifteen miles on their free time instead of going to the movies. It’s okay. I have accepted the fact that I’m a weirdo.

Example A:

I have a fake tattoo of bullet holes on my leg. So cool.

Moving on. I obviously peed a few times before everyone starts moving to the starting point. (There is a 50k going on at the same time too.)

And boom! The race started with a, “Go!”

The incredible thing about trail races is that you get to be by yourself on the trail for the majority of the time. I made sure I made my way to the front and I stayed there the remainder of the time. That gives me time to think about whatever, sing out loud, and cuss every time I hit another switch back. 

So, for the next 13.1 miles (probably more), I ran and ran and ran…

Is that Bigfoot?

I think my running stance for my hands is just a permanent thumbs up. Seriously.

After the half way point, I passed one dude. He was pissed too. I caught up with him and then his shoe kept coming untied so he stopped to tie. I was like… really? I have ran two cross-country races with untied shoes. I told him, “Just let it be, man. Keep going.” Such a hippie thing to say.

I passed him and then with, like, a half of a mile to go, I passed another guy.

I crossed the finish line in 1:37. I was 8th place, 1st female, and 1st in my age group. 

It’s funny because the so-called master female runner didn’t finish until twenty minutes after me.

All and all, it was a good race. I love racing. I’m a very competitive person so racing for me is almost natural. I guess that’s the word I’m looking for.

I did win a jacket for being the first female at the half way point. Hurray.

Also, I found out I was adopted that day…

Just kidding. I’m just the only photogenic person in my family.

Boring Sunday

Let’s just get this out of the way…

Monday: 6.79 miles @ 7.28 + 10 minutes on the elliptical + 4.10 miles @7:07
Tuesday: 8.82 miles @ 7:06
Wednesday: Field Day
Thursday: 8.88 miles @ 7:06
Friday: 9.23 miles @ 7:13
Saturday: 13.95 miles @ 7:00 (first four miles done at 6:43)
Sunday: 8.73 miles on the treadmill between 7:03 and 7:13 pace

Total: 56.40

I’m so close to breaking 60 miles. I haven’t done that in awhile. 


I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

My Sunday started off with the usual breakfast of fruit and cottage cheese.

I think I’m going to switch up my breakfast though for this week. Instead of cottage cheese I’m going to eat hard boiled eggs in hope to drop a few pounds. I don’t think I dropped any weight this week unfortunately. I weighed myself and the scale said I gained six pounds! That’s not even possible. I am back where I started then. It doesn’t make sense to me. 

I don’t know. I’m back to my old self anyway where I weigh myself too much and freak out over numbers. I want to be back at 115 at least. That’s good for my height of 5’3.

I know. I’m crazy, but it really irritates me. Again, I feel like I have no control over anything right now.

Anyway, the rest of my Sunday I worked out.

What’s new? It’s raining out so I went on the treadmill for an hour. Thank you, Miley Cyrus, for making my treadmill time fun. 

After that I lifted some weights and went on the elliptical.

All and all, it’s a lazy Sunday. I worked out, ate Chinese food, and watched Spongebob. It’s a rainy day, which reminds me of home.

Totally homesick right now.
