Greetings and salutations. I’m Christy. I use to run an insane amount of miles at an incredible speed, but after dealing with life and spending time in the United States Marine Corps, I let go of running. However, running is my passion and I’m back for more.

    You sound like my long lost sister. No joke! I didn’t run track in high school (just graduated, thank goodness that’s over!) but I just recently started running and have a dream of also completing a half marathon, marathon, and a triathalon. Call me crazy, but it’s good to have goals!
    Whenever I tell my mom about how far I ran, she just kinda looks at me like I’m crazy. So I understand where you’re coming from. I really want to do some races so I can meet other people that I can connect with and share my love of running with!

    I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2011. It was awesome, but my all time favorite race is Marine Corps Marathon. MCM was my first full marathon. It is around 30,000 runners. The race takes you over two popular bridges, loops around the pentagon and then the rest of the monuments, ending at the Iwo Jima memorial. It is awesome for a first time marathon because the race has thousands of spectators, it is well organized, and at the start, military jets fly over your head. Talk about getting you pumped up. You will find motivation when you run next to a military solider, running the marathon, in his or her full uniform, boots and backpack included. You must add it to your list, especially since you are a Marine. šŸ™‚
